What’s the big deal about dietary fiber? I recently wrote an entire article about how eating an adequate amount of fiber can lead to significant weight loss. High fiber foods reduce blood sugar and insulin levels following a meal. Over time, this increases insulin sensitivity. The opposite condition, known as insulin resistance, is linked to chronic inflammation, heightened risks of type 2 diabetes, and obesity. In fact, the more insulin resistant a person becomes, the more weight she will gain. Fiber-rich foods are essential to reversing this condition.
This weight loss smoothie reminds me of black raspberry ice cream: creamy, sweet, and tangy! It contains almost 100% of your dietary fiber needs for the day and will keep you feeling full for hours.
